Almost 4500 years ago, the first European civilization, the Minoan, was born on Crete. Until the 20th century, it was considered a myth, until the legendary archaeologist Arthur Evans found the center of this civilization – the Palace of Knossos, which is now considered one of the main landmarks of Crete and the whole Greece. The legends about King Minos, Theseus, Ariadne and the Minotaur, known to us since childhood, are associated with this very place. During this tour, you will be able to visit this Palace and learn how people of Minoan civilization used to live.

The tour continues with the visit to the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. Exhibition halls with unique artifacts will guide you through all the pages of Minoan history.

Further we will pay a visit to the city of Heraklion – the capital of Crete. Here you will see the Venetian Loggia, the Morosini Fountain on the Square of Lions, the Cathedral of Titus and the Kules Fortress.

Additionally, you will have free time to walk around the historical center of the city or make a stop in on of the colorful taverns or cafeterias of Heraklion.
